Luke: A Gospel for All
Chapter 2 gives a detailed account of the birth of Jesus. Luke records the reason Mary and Joseph were in Bethlehem and how this fulfilled Old Testament prophecy. Luke gives details of the host of angel’s coming down from heaven to announce The birth of Jesus.
Luke records the blessing of Jesus as He is brought into the temple and Simeon and Anna prophesy concerning Him. Luke gives us the only recorded event in the childhood of Jesus as He comes to Jerusalem with His parents to observe the “Passover.” Jesus was 12 years old and became separated from His family as they journeyed back to Nazareth. His parents found Him after 3 days and He told them that He was doing the Father’s business. What an example to us to be about our Lord’s business.
