The Gospel of Luke: Chapter 3
In this third chapter, Luke highlights the ministry of John the Baptist. John was the forerunner of Jesus and the one God had ordained to prepare for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Luke stated that John’s calling and ministry was a fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy.
Luke records the baptism of Christ and how the heavens were opened and the Holy Spirit descended on Him like a dove. John had told all those who came to him for baptism, that one was coming who was greater than him and would baptize them with the Holy Spirit and fire.
We can thank God today for sending His Son to save us from our sin and baptize us with the Holy Spirit. Let us worship God today for providing for our salvation in Christ Jesus our Lord!
