The Gospel of Luke: Chapter 5
In this chapter, we have the calling of the disciples to come and follow Jesus. Jesus demonstrated through miracles that He was the Messiah and when those men who were spending time with Him were convinced that He was the Messiah, they left everything and followed Him. When we are convinced that Jesus really is the Son of God, then we have a decision to make. Are we willing to forsake our old life to leave it behind and follow Jesus?
When the disciples began to follow Jesus, they witnessed things that others never saw. They saw Jesus calm the storm, they saw Him meet with Moses and Elijah on a mountain top and they saw Him walk on water. Luke describes just some of the many things His disciples witnessed. If we follow Jesus closely, we too will see things done through The Holy Spirit that few will ever see.
