Wisdom for Life's Journey - Proverbs 2
The Word of God is a treasure but treasure that is hidden or undiscovered provides no value for the soul. In Proverbs 2 we find the valuable instructions from a loving father. These words of invaluable wisdom are profitable if they are received.
How can we be sure we receive the Words of God? In verse 2 we are instructed to listen to the word and apply it to our heart. In verse three we are encouraged to pray for discernment and understanding of the word. Verse 4 exhorts us to search the word as we would for hidden treasure and we will discover a deeper understanding of God. There is a promise in verse 9 that if we do these things we will discover the good paths in life. Spending time with God each day helps us discover the wisdom that guides our pathways in this life.
