Wisdom for Life's Journey - Proverbs 26

The Bible speaks to every situation in life and is relevant to all generations. We find in the 26th Proverb a lot of advice concerning foolish people. Fools are known by their much speaking and the motives behind their words. There is much wisdom offered in how to deal with those who attempt to divide and slander. We are not to honor them. When we do we arm them to do further damage. Verse 8 says “Like one who binds a stone in a sling is he who gives honor to a fool.” “Where there is no wood the fire goes out, where there is no talebearer strife ceases.” We must be careful as Christians with what we say especially over social media. May we not fuel the fires of strife by repeating rumors or saying anything negative or offensive about others. Ask the Lord to control our tongue and the “send” button on our phones.
