Acts of the Holy Spirit: Chapter 14

main image

Acts chapter 14 highlights the opposition that Paul and Barnabas faced as they spread the gospel. Verse 3 says they  were speaking boldly and the Holy Spirit was bearing witness alongside them with signs and wonders. Paul and Barnabas did not always have a warm reception but by the grace of God they kept on sharing the gospel. We can learn a lot from what God shared with us in this chapter of Acts. Paul was called to go and share and he was faithful to do that but the results were up to God how people would respond. God is just looking for us to be faithful and he will take care of the rest
Verse 21 says that when they preached the gospel in the city it led to many becoming disciples of Jesus. Galatians 6:9 says “If we continue in doing well we will reap if we don’t faint. Keep sharing the good news that Jesus saves!

Acts of the Holy Spirit: Chapter 12

main image

The book of Acts is a testimony to the powerful workings of the Holy Spirit. Christ had sent His Spirit to dwell in  believers so they could be witnesses to a lost world. In chapter 12 we see the Holy Spirit protecting those who are sharing their faith. The gospel will always be confronted by adversaries who will attempt to silence believers from sharing the truth. We have many of these adversaries today in our culture and they are trying to silence Christians. They will never succeed because of the power of the Holy Spirit.
The enemies will ultimately be destroyed and their plans fail as God’s Word continues to be proclaimed. In this trying time in which we live, we must stand up for Jesus, share the gospel message, disciple those who come to Jesus and live a life of faith before the world. These things can only be done through the power of the Holy Spirit. That is why we are commanded to”Be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
