Acts of the Holy Spirit: Chapter 11

The Holy Spirit works through believers to faith in Christ. Here in Acts 11 the Holy Spirit sent some believers to Antioch to preach and many people came to salvation in Christ. The Holy Spirit also works through believers to help new believers grow in their faith. The Holy Spirit sent Barnabas to Antioch to strengthen these new converts. In verse 23 says “When he came and seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord.” Barnabas was sent by the Spirit to find Paul and bring him to help the new believers in Antioch. In verse 26, the word says “That for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people.”
The Holy Spirit desires to use you and me to help people come to faith in Christ and help them become grounded in their faith. Pray for God to fill you and use you for His glory as you walk with Him daily.

Acts of the Holy Spirit: Chapter 10

Acts 10 is another example of how God works in the lives of believers and unbelievers. Peter has been filled with the Holy Spirit and the Spirit is transforming his life to broaden his ministry to include the gentiles. Cornelius is a gentile that the Holy Spirit is working on to bring to salvation in Christ. The Holy Spirit prepared Peter and Cornelius for this divine encounter. God can do the same thing for us. If we are prayed up as Peter was and willing to be guided by the Holy Spirit, we will be used of God to grow His church.
Peter sat at Jesus feet and learned for three years and yet; he still had a lot to learn so God could use him more. May we as followers of Christ, never stop learning as we become more faithful instruments for our Master’s service.
