Acts of the Holy Spirit: Chapter 1

Acts chapter one is a beautiful chapter that sets the stage for what happened on the day of Pentecost. God chose Luke to write the account of the working of the Holy Spirit in bringing the church in existence. The disciples had received instructions from Jesus and to their credit they were attempting to obey the Lord. They remained together and in prayer. The disciples were trying to decide what to do next. These disciples had a desire to serve the Lord but they had no power to fulfill the great commission. What was about to happen to them and through them would change the world. Pray to the Lord that He would help you glean from this reading of Acts a greater understanding of the work of the Holy Spirit.

Wisdom for Life's Journey - Proverbs 30

Proverbs 30 is written by a man named Agur who we know very little about. We can see from the things God led him to write; that he had a deep faith in God and reverence for Him. He recognizes that God is so much mightier and higher than he is. In verse 5 he declares that” Every Word of God is pure.He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. 
It is interesting that Agur mentions in several verses the wickedness of some generations. It reminds us of the generation that has arisen in these last days. This is a generation that exalts itself and devises evil as Agur described in verses 32 and 33. He warns that the wrath of a generation that exalts itself will lead to strife. Pray for God to deliver us from the strife and turmoil of this generation as we put our trust in Him.
