Wisdom for Life's Journey - Proverbs 25

main image

We live in a culture where people often speak words that offend, injure or provoke discord. Our culture is desperate for those who will speak the truth in love. Proverbs 25:11 says “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.” Wisdom to speak words that bless people comes from God. “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” When a person has spent quality time in fellowship with God, you will know by the words that flow from their lips. Evangelist Billy Graham impacted the world for over half a century because he spoke the truth in love. We can have influence that leads to peace and harmony among brothers if we speak the truth in love. Spend time in fellowship with God, yield your tongue to the control of the Holy Spirit and God can speak His wisdom through you.

Wisdom for Life's Journey - Proverbs 24

main image

There are a lot of things in life that don’t seem fair. We ask ourselves sometimes why evil seems to triumph over good. We are encouraged in Proverbs 24 to leave these things to the Lord. In the first verse we are told not to envy those who do evil or desire to be with them. We are not to rejoice when our enemy falls or be glad when he stumbles. Leave it to the Lord.
We are told on this Proverb to deliver those who are drawn toward death and hold back those who are stumbling toward the slaughter. We are to trust God for strength to help those most vulnerable. Trust God everyday for wisdom to bless others.
