main image

It is amazing how relevant the Bible is to our culture today. There is a lot of turmoil and unrest in our nation today. Proverbs 29 speaks to the situation that exist in our country today when it says in verse 16 “When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increases; but the righteous will see their fall.” It also says in verse 27 that “An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous and he who is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.” This verse highlights the terrible condition our divided nation is in. The only hope we have is that God Almighty will help us in this desperate time. I hope you are seeking God daily and praying for a stirring among our people to return to God before it is too late.

Proverbs have been preserved for us down through the ages to guide us to the knowledge of God and lead us to be spiritually healthy. These words of wisdom are revelations from God that are 3000 years old. They are a testimony that God’s Word endures forever.
In verse 9 of Proverbs 28, we find these words “ One who turns his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer is an abomination.” These are strong words that remind us how important it is to listen and apply the Word of God in our life. Verse 13 says “He who covers his sin will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.” We need to spend time with Our God everyday, listening to His Word with our heart and confessing our sins when the word convict us. This is the way we can stay in fellowship with our Lord.
