Access to the Throne of God - Hebrews 12

main image

There is much in Hebrews chapter 12 that encourages believers. The chapter opens with the idea that we are being cheered on by those in heaven who have gone on before us.  Our life is compared to a race that must be run and we are encouraged to leave behind those things that would hinder us in this race of endurance. Verse two challenges us to keep our attention focused on Jesus who is waiting for us at the finish line.
As a follower of Jesus, we are to live holy lives, and pursue holiness. We are to avoid useless and profane things. We are to be on guard that no bitterness sets up in our heart. This is why it is so important for us to spend time with God each day. He will strengthen us and supply what we need to successfully complete the race. “He is the author and finisher of our faith.”

Access to the Throne of God - Day 11

main image

Those who take time each day to spend with God are the people of faith. It is because we believe in God and by faith, believe we can have fellowship with Him. In Hebrews11:6 we are told that “He who comes to God, must believe that He is, and He is the rewarded of those who diligently seek Him. Our relationship with Christ is based on faith that He is the Son of God.
We learn from chapter 11 of Hebrews that without faith we cannot please God. We learn also that He counts as righteous those who have faith in His Son. We also learn that God has prepared a place for those who have believed in Him. Real faith will be born out in the actions of those who trust in God. Jesus said real believers would produce fruit. May our actions before the world declare our deep faith in God.
