Proverbs - Wisdom for Life's Journey

Ever since man was created he has searched for purpose and meaning in life. God has given us His written Word so that we might discover who God is and His purpose for our lives. Proverbs speaks to the issues of life and has much wisdom for those who will apply these powerful truth’s.
One of my favorite passages of scripture is found in this 3rd chapter in verses 5and 6. I have tried to apply these verses to my life. If we will just trust in the Lord with all our heart and not rely on ourselves to figure things out; the Lord has promised to direct our paths. I need God’s direction in my life. He knows how to lead me away from trouble and He knows how to deliver me when I get in trouble. God’s wisdom is available through His Word. May I daily search for wisdom by spending time with God and His Word.

Wisdom for Life's Journey - Proverbs 2

The Word of God is a treasure but treasure that is hidden or undiscovered provides no value for the soul. In Proverbs 2 we find the valuable instructions from a loving father. These words of invaluable wisdom are profitable if they are received.
How can we be sure we receive the Words of God? In verse 2 we are instructed to listen to the word and apply it to our heart. In verse three we are encouraged to pray for discernment and understanding of the word. Verse 4 exhorts us to search the word as we would for hidden treasure and we will discover a deeper understanding of God. There is a promise in verse 9 that if we do these things we will discover the good paths in life. Spending time with God each day helps us discover the wisdom that guides our pathways in this life. Pray to discover some hidden treasure in God’s Word today.
