Psalms: Truth and Treasures Day 10

main image

We find ourselves in trying times with a lot of uncertainty and apprehension. It is difficult to know what or who to believe. It is comforting to know that in these times we have a God who knows all things and is able to comfort and deliver us in His time. Psalm 57 is a cry for mercy in the midst of difficult circumstances. God is our refuge and verse one of Psalm 57, should be our prayer during these times. “My soul trusts in You and in the shadow of Your wings, I will make my refuge; until these calamities have passed by.”
Verse 7 says “ my heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise.” God will provide the comfort we need in this time of trouble. Let us be mindful to praise Him for His mercy toward us. I look forward to the time when we can all come together and worship and praise our “Awesome God” who holds us in the storm.

Psalms: Truth and Treasures Day 9

King David, the mightiest, most powerful man on the face of the earth at that time, had to humble himself before Almighty God. David had broken his fellowship with God by sinning as he yielded to temptation. Psalm 51 is a heart-wrenching account of brokenness, confession and crying out in repentance for God’s forgiveness. In this time alone with God, David was able to see his sin as God saw it and he was able to find in God’s mercy the forgiveness he sought.
I need daily to have my time with God so He can reveal my sin and lead me to confession, repentance, and forgiveness. I need to be in continuous fellowship with God daily to receive the power to resist temptation and be a useful servant of God. When I fail, as I often do; during theses times with God, He forgives me and reorient’s me to His will for my life. Thank God for these precious times of being with Him.
