Psalms - Truth and Treasures 4

God has many ways of revealing Himself and we see some of them in Psalm 19. As a shepherd boy,  David probably sat on the hills around Bethlehem at night keeping watch over his sheep. He must have looked into the heavens and understood that only a “Great God” could have put the stars in the sky. As he saw the glory of the sun coming up over the hills, he must have marveled at the beauty of it and knew that God had made it.
God also reveals Himself in His Word. David had a great appreciation for God’s Word and those precepts served as his guide for life. Spending time with God each day, allows us to do what David did thousands of years ago. We can look for the revelation of God on our life; and just as David wrote His revelations from God down, so can we.

Psalms - Truth and Treasures 3

Spending time with the Lord daily is important if we want to have continuous fellowship with Him. We are reminded in Psalm 15 how it is possible to abide in fellowship with God. We must be clean from sin and that means each day asking God to search our hearts. When the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin we must confess and repent and receive God’s forgiveness so we can be back in fellowship with God.
Remaining in fellowship with God is important for our spiritual growth. God will hear our prayers and answer according to His will as we abide with Him. Someone said that we Christians are leaky vessels and we must remain under the source of our “Living Water” to stay filled. Spending time with Christ each day keeps us connected to the one who can fill us each day.
