Meaningful Moments with God - Day 14

main image

It is obvious from the scriptures that Jesus loved spending time with The Father. Jesus often talked about receiving from The Father and doing the will of The Father. In our Bible reading today, Jesus shared with His disciples the special relationship He enjoyed with The Father. Jesus went on to say in verse 23 that we as His disciples could share in that special relationship.
Jesus also said in verse 26 that He would send The Holy Spirit to be our helper and help us remember the things Jesus taught in His Word. As a follower of Christ and a child of God, I have access to this special relationship with God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. When I take time daily to enjoy this relationship, my life will reflect the impact these encounters have on my life.

Meaningful Moments with God - Day 12

main image

Our goal during this 21-day challenge is to spend meaningful time with God daily, so we can be better servants and followers of Christ. In John chapter 12, Jesus was coming to Jerusalem for the last time before he was crucified. As Jesus came into the city, the people were praising Him; and in the midst of their praise, Jesus had a challenge for them. In Verse 26, Jesus spoke these words “If anyone serves Me, Let him follow me; and where I am, there My servants will be also. If anyone serves Me, he- My Father will honor.”
Praising the Lord is easier than serving the Lord! Jesus was reminding all these people who were caught up in the moment, that following Him and serving Him involved a deep commitment. Jesus also said that His servants would be where He is. Spending time with God helps us to see where God is working and prepares us to join Him in His work. Jesus said God would honor those who serve the Lord. May our meaningful times with God prepare our hearts for faithful service for our King.
