Meaningful Moments with God - Day 11

main image

Spending time with God each day is a form of discipline and I need discipline in my life. Without discipline, I cannot grow as a believer and without discipline, I will be inconsistent In my
walk with God. When we are saved, the Holy Spirit comes to reside inside of us and we have great potential. Potential without discipline is just potential; but the potential with discipline leads to growth, performance, loyalty, devotion, favor, and blessing.
When we spend time with God each day, We are practicing discipline and we are asking the Lord to bring into our life the things we need to become better followers of Jesus. The disciples of Christ became devoted followers because they stayed with Jesus and by abiding with Him they grew into more faithful servants. We too will become more faithful servants and devoted followers as we spend time daily with our Lord.

Meaningful Moments with God - Day 10

During my special time with God this morning, I was praying for God to reveal any sin in my life that I was not aware of how I may have failed Him. The Lord brought into my mind how at times in my life I had grieved and quenched the Holy Spirit. I prayed to the Holy Spirit and asked for His forgiveness for offending Him. Sometimes we have a difficult time forgiving ourselves when we know we have sinned against God.
It is amazing how fast sometimes that God answers our prayers. I know that God forgives our sin immediately when we truly confess and repent of our sin but it sure leads me to rejoice in my soul when He affirms His forgiveness to me. About 20 minutes after I had asked for forgiveness I received a bible verse from a friend and it was Jeremiah 33:8 “ And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity whereby they have sinned against Me and I will pardon all their iniquity whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against Me.”  This special time with God today allowed me to hear from Him and rejoice in His forgiveness. “A special time, a special place, connecting with God and living in Grace.”
