Wisdom for the Ages: Ecclesiastes 2

Solomon was a man who had received great wisdom from God; yet all this wisdom did not bring him happiness and fulfillment. These words in Ecclesiastes chapter two, or words of a man searching for meaning in his life. Solomon had obtained greater riches than any Kimg before him. His kingdom flourished and he built Jerusalem into the most beautiful city in the world. For years he built elaborate gardens, pools and buildings so that his fame went all over the earth. People came from all over the world to see the works of Solomon.
After he had spent a great deal of time and effort, he realized that these things were vanity and they didn’t bring happiness or fulfillment. True happiness and fulfillment can only come from God. God says we will find Him when we search for Him with all our heart. Pursue a close personal relationship with God through Trusting in Jesus Christ and you will find a peace that passes all understanding.
