Acts of the Holy Spirit: Chapter 26

main image
In chapter 26, we have the apostle Paul making a defense before King Agrippa, of his faith in Jesus Christ. Paul is unashamed of his faith in Christ and shares his personal testimony with these two rulers.Paul shares how he came to faith in Christ and how the resurrected Lord gave him the commission to go and preach the gospel to Jews and Gentiles. In his defense of the gospel, Paul is actually witnessing to both of these rulers and he confronts them with the truth. King Agrippa tells Paul that he is almost persuaded to become a Christian.
The sad truth is that Agrippa was close to coming to faith in Christ but did not receive Christ as Paul had hoped he would.we must be faithful to share our testimony of how we came to Christ and trust God for the results.

Acts of the Holy Spirit: Chapter 25

main image

Acts 25 continues the story of Paul’s arrests and hearings before several high ranking Roman puppets. The Jewish religious rulers in Jerusalem want Paul condemned and killed. The Roman rulers who hear the case against Paul are not convinced of his guilt. They don’t know what to do with Paul. Paul finally appeals to be brought before Caesar in Rome.
Paul is not afraid because the Holy Spirit is guiding him. The Holy Spirit led him to Jerusalem to be arrested and the Holy Spirit will send him to Rome to be imprisoned for two years. Why would God allow Paul to be imprisoned for two years? Perhaps it was to give Paul time to write the divinely inspired letters that make up some of the New Testament books. These letters, written by Paul while in prison, have guided churches and believers for two thousand years. What is the Holy Spirit doing in your life so You can influence others for Christ?
